"Why Jordan?"
We asked some of our recent students and our Amideast team in Jordan to give us their thoughts on “Why Jordan?”
Here’s what they had to say:
“It’s no wonder Jordan was chosen as the first Arab country for study abroad. Studying here gives you more than memories, it gives you perspective. You gain Arabic not from a textbook, but over coffee and tea, and in conversations in markets and homes. You see theories of conflict and peacebuilding come alive in community projects. You learn resilience, adaptability, and empathy through daily interactions with its generous people. To study abroad in Jordan now is to learn in ways that feel natural, genuine, and lasting.”
Rawand also pulled together this collection of photos to represent Jordan and the participant experience at Amideast.

“Studying abroad in Jordan is about experiencing something real. Amman especially offers an authentic atmosphere where everyday life immerses you in the culture. The city is home to diverse communities and open, welcoming people, making it easy to connect on a personal level. It’s not just about studying in a classroom, it’s about living the culture, learning Arabic naturally through daily interactions, and gaining a deeper understanding of the region in a way that feels genuine and lasting.”
So, “why Jordan?”
Why not Jordan.
Jordan is safe, authentic, diverse; the people are kind, welcoming, and generous; Amman is bustling and exciting and brimming with opportunities. Jordan is real.
