"The Dead Sea" by Jack Mullen

"The Dead Sea" by Jack Mullen

We all know about the dead sea,
People can float in water,
“Great, I can do that already.”

Nope
Nope no nah lol no

The Dead Sea is legitimately so cool.
wow
Spacelike, Dreamlike, FLYING

A wonder for only you
Soon to be
gone

Who will be the last one to visit?
Change before all our eyes, Many do not
See movement

This was the water level in 2005
(This was The Dead Sea)

This was the water level in 2010
(This was an ancient sea)

This was the water level in 2015

(This is Earth)
Soon to be
gone

Sign marking what used to be the water level:
Many resorts and roads used to be built right along the coast of the Dead Sea, but now it is difficult to imagine a world where that was the case. It is easy to accept things how they are now, but strange to realize that things change. See movement, realize what changes are happening and act.

The Dead Sea’s high salt quality is unique. The fact that it is in danger of disappearing due to human induced global warming, is not. Photo credit: Mullen, 2023.
